SVDP Hernando/Citrus District
Food Pantry & Thrift Store
There are several ways you can support the Hernando/Citrus District Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in its service to the hungry, homeless and needy. Here are some of them.

FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS

We welcome and appreciate your financial contributions by check. These contributions provide you with a tax-deduction and us with a much-needed steady cash flow to help meet our operating costs year-round.

FOOD DONATIONS

We always need non-perishable foods to replenish the pantries that stock the comestibles that we use to fill food baskets for the indigent families of the areas---canned goods, peanut butter, packaged cereals, boxed dinners! These can be delivered to our Food Pantry, 1291 Kass CR, Spring Hill, FL 34606, daily between 9 am and 4 pm

THRIFT STORE DONATIONS

Our Thrift Store at 1291 Kass CR, Spring Hill, FL 34606 thrives on donated clothing, furniture and household goods that are given free of charge to needy people referred by their local SVDP Conference or resold at low cost to the public. Our truck will pick up your heavy items in various areas on appointed days. Call us at 352-688-3331 to make arrangements.

MEMORIALS

Often made in lieu of flowers, Memorials pay tribute to the memory of deceased relatives and friends. Just send us your check and the name of the person you wish to remember and we will send cards to their bereaved families to let them know of your special gift to SVDP.

COMMEMORATIVE TRIBUTES

A Commemorative Tribute is a wonderful way to recognize your loved ones on their birthdays, anniversaries, at Christmas or other special occasions, or simply to remind them how much they mean to you. Send us your check, the name of the person and the event you want to recognize and we will send them cards telling them of your gift to SVDP.

WILLS AND BEQUESTS

By including SVDP in your estate plans, your legacy of caring for the less fortunate lives on through the special works of SVDP. You can specify a dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or whatever your heart dictates. We suggest you consult your attorney and/or financial advisor to work out the details.

APPRECIATED ASSETS

Your gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities can help you avoid capital gain taxes and enable you to receive a tax deduction. Again, consult your financial advisor.

CLIENT NEEDS

We appreciate donations of bar soap, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, disposable razors, combs, brushes, tooth paste and tooth brushes, women's sanitary supplies, socks and men/women's underwear for the participants of the Personal Hygiene Program of the Food Centerwhich also needs books and DVD movies for their libraries.

VOLUNTEERS

We can always use the loving support of our volunteers who help in the District Office with clerical chores, or in our Food Center preparing and serving our clients, or in the Thrift Store where they wait on customers. Call our Office at 352-688-3331 today!
